This classic effect is a hybrid of two classic tricks combined with some extremely clever misdirection. A marked borrowed coin is placed on the surface of a balloon, & visibly pushed thru the side of the balloon. The coin circles while inside in an elliptical manner the comes to rest inside. The balloon is popped & the marked coin is returned to its owner. Created in 1978 by magic-Ian and Received 4 stars in Genii Magazine.
There are hundreds of attempts on YouTube to perform a coin thru balloon, this is the original and still the best, well thought out, very first coin through balloon. The trick they all try to do, and try to imitate.

Beware of imitations. The search engines seem to pick up amateur versions and renditions of this effect. This is the one that has credentials. 4 stars in Genii magazine, and the first ever version of a coin in balloon.
